Nickels, Noses, and Next Steps
The scoreboard is the last install of the operating system — and the one your team feels the fastest. When elders can read engagement in a single page, the whole conversation changes.

build the scoreboard.
Replace the attendance report with a movement report: how many people moved a stage this quarter, and which stages are leaking.
Report on movement, not attendance.
A weekly attendance number is a photograph. A quarterly movement number is a film. Publish one page every 90 days: net movement by stage, top three stalls, top three wins. Watch how quickly your leadership meetings stop being defensive.
What would change in your next elder meeting if the top-line number were ‘people who moved a stage’ instead of ‘people in seats’?
Leading indicators earn the room.
Leading indicators — first-time servers, first-gift donors, mid-week engagements, invites sent — predict discipleship weeks before it shows up. Pick three per pathway stage. Trend them month over month. Trust the curve, not the anecdote.
Name one leading indicator you would trust more than attendance if it climbed for two quarters straight.
The scoreboard is a leadership habit, not a report.
The scoreboard doesn't work unless it becomes the meeting. Same page. Same cadence. Same three questions: what moved, what stalled, what will we do about it. In 12 months the scoreboard runs your calendar — and your calendar starts running your fruit.
Who on your team owns the scoreboard meeting — and does it happen without them chasing it?
The move
Publish a movement report every 90 days. Let the scoreboard, not the anecdote, run the meeting.
This is where the operating system becomes irreversible. Once elders read movement, they will not go back to reading seats.
Next step
See where your scoreboard would show the biggest leak.
The Grader scores your church across the five dimensions and points at the stage that would move the movement number first.
