Right Message, Right Person, Right Time

Most churches over-communicate and under-direct. Install a messaging discipline: one audience, one promise, one next step per asset — every time.

give one clear next step.

Confused people don't take next steps. They disengage politely. Your job is not more communication — it's clearer direction.

01

Every message has one audience.

The all-church email that speaks to Guests, Servers, and Leaders at once speaks to no one. Segment your messaging by pathway stage. A Guest gets one thing. A Server gets a different thing. The willing stop feeling shouted at, and the response rates climb.

How many of your last five all-church messages were segmented to a single pathway stage?

02

Every message ends in one action.

Not three CTAs. Not a menu. One next step that is small, specific, and observable. If a person cannot say the action out loud after ten seconds on the page, the message failed — no matter how beautiful the design.

Open your last landing page. What is the one action you're asking for? Would a stranger name the same one?

Plain language is a spiritual discipline.

Insider vocabulary is comfortable for staff and expensive for guests. ‘Rooted,’ ‘Journey,’ ‘City Groups’ — decode them. Rewrite for a twelve-year-old and a first-time visitor. Precision is not the enemy of dignity. Jargon is.

Which internal term in your comms would you struggle to explain to a first-time guest?

The move

One audience. One promise. One next step. Every message. Every time.

This is where most churches feel the fastest lift. Clear directions convert the willing that were already on the pathway — you just weren't pointing at them.
